| Sensei Yuri Isakovich is a 4th dan (4th degree) black belt and is the chief instructor at the Woodbine Shotokan Karate Club. He also holds black belts in Goju Karate and Kickboxing. He is an NCCP certified coach and has been a club owner/operator for over 13 years. Some of his other accomplishments include: • Past member of 8 national karate teams • 1998 provincial bronze in kumite • 1997 Alberta team gold • 1996 ranked 3rd in Canada in kumite • 1996 represented Canada in an international exchange to France • 1995 semi-finalist at JKA nationals • 1994 national team member • 1993 represented Canada at the Shotokan World Championships in Germany • 1992 NKA national team fighting gold medallist • Certified referee/official • Assistant coach, Alberta Winter Games (1996, 1998) • Karate Instructor, Calgary Police Force (1998) |
